Thomas Turrell

Deputy Chairman (Membership & Finance)

Thomas has been Deputy Chairman of Greenwich Conservatives since March 2016. Prior to this he was the Greenwich & Woolwich Constituency Officer between 2014 and 2016 and previously served as Deputy Chairman from 2012 to 2013. He has been a member of the Conservative party since 2006.

Thomas has twice stood for election to Greenwich Council - contesting Blackheath Westcombe ward in 2014 where he received 1518 votes and the 2015 Greenwich West by-election where he took 2nd place, increasing the Conservative vote by 10% and achieved 2466 votes. Thomas is also currently an Area Officer on the South London Conservatives Area Committee.

Thomas is an active member of the community having been a School Governor, NHS Governor and active in a range of community based groups in Greenwich such as the Charlton Rail Users Group and the Blackheath Royal Standard Business & Traders Association. Thomas has also sat on the Charlton Safer Neighbourhood Ward Panel and is Vice-Chair of the Blackheath Royal Standard Community Association. 

Over four generations of Thomas’s family come from the area; his grandfather was a shopkeeper in Woolwich and later ran small plumbing business in Charlton. Thomas himself has lives across the constituency in Greenwich, Thamesmead, Charlton and currently Blackheath.

Thomas attended the University of Greenwich and graduated in 2013, he now lives with his partner, Gemma, in Blackheath. Since leaving University Thomas has worked as an administrator, and is currently working in the Financial Services sector.
