University of Greenwich to close Avery Hill Campus’ Mansion Site

It has been announced that the University of Greenwich is to close and sell off the Mansion Site section of the Avery Hill campus, mainly as a result of the move of various university Departments to the Stockwell Street development in Greenwich Town Centre.

Supermarket chain’s Porcupine appeal rejected

An appeal by supermarket chain LiDL against Bromley Council’s decision not to approve its plans to demolish Mottingham’s Porcupine Pub has been rejected by the Planning Inspectorate. The move follows more than 20 months of campaigning by Mottingham Residents Association and local residents, backed by Bromley and Chislehurst MP Bob Neill and local councillors.

Eltham politician wins national teaching award

Eltham Conservative Parliamentary candidate and local teacher, Cllr Spencer Drury has won a prestigious national award for teaching excellence in AS level Government and Politics.
