Conservatives propose lower council tax rise, more help for the vulnerable & action on flytipping

Conservative councillors in Greenwich are set to oppose the Labour-run Council’s planned 2.99% Council Tax rise at a meeting on Wednesday night (28th February) – instead proposing a fully-costed budget alternative that would deliver a lower council tax rise, more support for vulnerable residents and action on flytipping.

Cllr Spencer Drury is standing for re-election in Eltham North ward in the local elections in May 2018.  Spencer is a married father of two teenage children who lives on the Eltham side of Shooters Hill. Spencer was first elected to Council in 2002 and has served on Greenwich Council as a Councillor for Eltham North ward since that time. He was Deputy Leader of the Opposition from 2004 to 2006 and Leader of the Opposition from 2006 to 2015. Spencer works at Colfe's School in Lee where he is currently Director of Sixth Form and Head of the Government & Politics Department.

Brenda has recently retired, having worked for the NHS for more than 40 years, and has lived in Eltham North ward since 1988, with her three children all attending local schools. Now that she has more time, Brenda would like to represent the ward that she has been a part of for the past 30 years.
