The University of Greenwich are showing off their draft proposals for the former Market site at Stockwell Street. Their outline plan shows off their new building for the Faculty of Architecture and Construction, along with a new Learning Resource Centre.

Making your mind up in West Greenwich

With less than a day of campaigning left for all parties it is time to make your mind up.

The figures from the last election for which ward figures are available are from the GLA Elections in 2008 show that only the Conservatives can beat Labour here to change Greenwich West.

File 480 Greenwich Conservatives have made a positive commitment to provide support to Armed Forces Service leavers in the Borough by counting their time in the Services towards an allocation for housing.

Pedestrianisation of Greenwich Town Centre

The Labour Councils plans for the pedestrianisation of Greenwich Town Centre appear to be yet another poorly thought out scheme related to the 2012 Olympic games.

Although the current layout of the centre is not the greatest, the proposed changes would make the situation considerably worse.

More spin on the Railways

It is two years since local Conservatives highlighted the 24.5% increase in annual season ticket prices to Maze Hill. Now Southeastern trains are removing the direct service from London Charing Cross during the evening rush hour – starting 13th Dec from 18.34 until 21.26 there will be no  direct services serving Deptford, Greenwich, Maze Hill or Westcome Park stations.

Deptford and Lewisham hit as Charlotte Turner closes

In September, children who previously attended the newly built Charlotte Turner School in Deptford have been faced with having to move to new schools as Greenwich Council had  taken the decision to close their one.
