Residents in Dinsdale Road wanting to make their street greener and friendlier and to reduce the effects of traffic pollution organised a petition asking Greenwich Council to plant street trees.
Blackheath Westcombe Councillor Geoff Brighty, who presented the petition to Council in January after meeting with residents, said he was delighted to support the call "Trees provide undoubted benefits for our environment and at the same time create a sense of well-being. I'm really pleased to say that the Council has responded positively to the request".
