Middle Park leaseholders who are challenging ‘extremely high’ costs for roof repairs passed on by Labour-run Greenwich Council have been backed by Conservative councillors at the Town Hall.
Councillor Charlie Davis, Deputy Leader of the Opposition on Greenwich Council, raised the issue at January’s Council meeting after meeting with leaseholders about their campaign.
Leaseholders on the Middle Park estate were sent letters informing them of bills of up to £20,000 just before Christmas, and have questioned the high cost of the work.
Councillor Davis called on Greenwich Council to provide greater openness and transparency on costs - which are affecting leaseholders on the Middle Park estate now, and could affect other estates in the borough in the future.
